It is with deep sorrow that the family of Juan “Raymond” Harper, affectionately known to fans worldwide as Rolling Ray, has confirmed his passing at the age of 28. His mother, Shazola Nay, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, writing: “It is with heavy heart that I let you all know that so Ray Ray (iamrollingray) has gone home to be with the Lord.”

Who Was Rolling Ray?

Born on September 5, 1996, Juan Raymond Harper transformed personal challenges into opportunities for creativity, visibility, and impact. Better known by his online moniker Rolling Ray, he proudly embraced the title “the most famous boy inna wheelchair,” a phrase that became synonymous with his bold, unapologetic presence across digital platforms.

Harper, affectionately known as Rolling Ray, a 28-year-old rapper and disability advocate, passed away on September 3, 2025, just before his birthday. Paralyzed from a 2018 car accident, he built a massive online following through viral videos, catchphrases like “purr,” and activism, including front-line involvement in the 2020 George Floyd protests. His legacy of empowerment for disabled and LGBTQ+ communities continues to resonate, as fans and celebrities mourn his bold spirit and cultural influence.

There is very little known about the cause of death at this time, but Ray had recently been in the hospital and had recovered from pneumonia and an unknown blood infection.
