Congrats are in order for Carlos King and his production company and for entrepreneur, Stormi Steele!
“Belle Collective,” OWN’s unscripted series following Black businesswomen in Jackson, Miss., is expanding into a franchise: The network has greenlit “Belle Collective: Birmingham” starring Stormi Steele.
Additionally, the original “Belle Collective” created and executive-produced by media mogul, Carlos King, will return to OWN for its seventh season on Feb. 13.
Steele is the founder and CEO of the multi-million dollar brand Canvas Beauty. According to the official logline, “Belle Collective: Birmingham” follows her as she “connects with a circle of driven, successful southern Belles in the rising cultural hub of Birmingham who are determined to transform the city into a thriving destination for beauty and influence. Stormi must navigate Birmingham’s deeply connected social and business scenes to forge alliances with fellow powerhouses including her savvy CFO Amber Jones, entrepreneur Tiffaney Jones, marketing strategist Funmi Ford, model and marketer Synetta Hawkins and talent manager K’La Inman.”
The “Belle Collective” franchise “spotlights dynamic women who embody the strength, ambition and pride of Black female entrepreneurship, redefining what it means to be a modern southern Belle who unapologetically carves her own path,” per OWN. The original series stars Kerri Paul, Lateshia Pearson, Latrice Rogers, Marie Hamilton-Abston, Selena Johnson and Tambra Cheri. Season 6 was the most-watched original series on cable among African American women age 25-54. (Variety)
