The Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 75. The artist had been hospitalized since the end of April at Faro Hospital in Portugal, where she resided. Her death was confirmed by the family through social media. Tyler had undergone emergency surgery in May to treat an intestinal perforation, remaining in an induced coma and critical condition until her passing.

CAREER AND LEGACY: Born Gaynor Hopkins on June 8, 1951, in Wales, Bonnie Tyler became a global icon of rock and pop, recognized for her raspy and powerful voice, a trait accentuated after vocal cord surgery in 1977. She was the first Welsh singer to top the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom simultaneously.
