Netflix has announced that Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black is returning for a fourth season, a surprise announcement given that Season 3 was originally billed as the series finale when it was announced in December 2025.
“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” Perry said. “There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way.”
Season 3, which does not yet have a release date, picks up with Kimmie finally earning a seat at the Bellarie table, only for a deadly family feud to erupt and force her into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down.
The series stars Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.
Beauty in Black originally premiered in 2024 and has been a consistent global performer for Netflix. Season 1 spent seven weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and reached number one in 28 countries, while Season 2 spent six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reached number one in 17 countries.
Tyler Perry, who created, wrote, directed, and executive produces the series, shared his joy: ‘There was so much more I wanted to explore, and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story.’ The show, centered on exotic dancer Kimmie Bellarie clashing with a wealthy cosmetics empire amid betrayals and dark secrets, racked up weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and topped charts in dozens of countries. Season 3 is in post-production for a later 2026 release, with Season 4 details still secret.
