We just had the season finale for RHOA season 17 this past Sunday, and the INTERNET has been FLOODED with RUMORS of who’s returning for the new season and who got the BOOT already!
There were ‘exclusive’ reports that some of the ladies were given their walking papers in favor of some OG housewives returning. Well, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, Andy Cohen calls FOUL!
Cohen dismissed reports that Shamea Morton was out and NeNe Leakes was returning for Season 18, insisting the current group with Porsha Williams, Shamea, Drew Sidora and others is here to stay.
TMZ backed this up, confirming no contract offer went to NeNe and none have been sent to anyone yet. Fans are split—some glad for stability to let tensions like Shamea’s drama with Porsha Williams and much of the current cast play out, others wishing for fresh changes—as filming ramps up soon.
Andy alluded to the fact that if you want a GLIMPSE of the new cast–take a look at the current cast. He said that he is very happy with the group he has now and that for the most part–‘THIS IS THE CAST’.
Now, I am ALL for STABILITY, but at what cost? This season had its fair share of DRAMA, but that drama did not pay off as far as RATINGS. The highest rated episode barely topped 720k viewers in real time viewers. Fans can remember back in the RHOA heyday when they raked in 1,5-2 million viewers an episode. The show hasn’t seen those types of numbers in years. So maybe a CHANGE is needed. But Andy seems hell bent on cutting off his NOSE despite his face. The FANS have asked for years for a Nene Leakes return to no avail. Her star power and IT factor definitely drew in the viewers, but still she has yet to return since she INFAMOUSLY slammed her laptop closed on that PANDEMIC reunion and was never seen on RHOA again…..
