Sad news to report….
Von Scales, the husband of Trina Braxton, has died.
TMZ reported that Scales, 58, died around 2 a.m. Thursday (October 1) in Atlanta, Georgia.
A representative for the Braxton family confirmed Scales’ death to TMZ, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Von Scales, beloved husband of Trina Braxton.”
The representative added, “The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers but is asking for privacy at this time as they navigate this unfortunate event.”
Sources close to the family told TMZ that Scales had been dealing with heart-related problems. His cause of death has not been announced.
Scales was an entrepreneur with a background in the wellness industry. He and Braxton married in December 2019 after meeting through mutual friends, and the couple appeared together on Braxton Family Values and The Braxtons.
Scales also supported Braxton as she mourned the 2018 death of her ex-husband, Gabriel “Gabe” Solis. In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Braxton said Scales “really helped me through it” and “stood right by me.”
Scales’ death comes four years after Braxton lost her sister, singer Traci Braxton, who died on March 12, 2022, at age 50 after battling esophageal cancer.
Von Scales was an entrepreneur and the Director of Wellness at Hamilton Mill Family Complete Care, and he also owns the Pro IV Chronic Pain Center in the St. Louis area. Before working in the wellness sector, he held corporate roles at companies like Compuware Corp, Maxim Investment Group, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
The family has not announced funeral or memorial arrangements for Scales. Let’s keep Trina and Von’s family lifted up in prayer.
