Black History is EVERYBODY’S history!!

Alexander Miles was an African-American inventor who was best known for being awarded a patent for an automatically opening and closing elevator door design in 1887. Contrary to many sources, Miles was not the original inventor of this device. In 1874, 13 years before Miles’ patent was awarded, John W. Meaker was awarded U.S. Patent 147,853 for the invention of the first automatic elevator door system.

Often referred to as the “Father of Black History,” he was notably the second African American to graduate from Harvard University with a doctorate degree and is credited with being one of the first scholars to study and research the history of African Americans. #JimmyCarter, 39th president and Nobel Peace Prize winner, dies at 100! [details]

Former President Jimmy Carter, a Georgia peanut farmer who vowed to restore morality and truth to politics after an era of White House scandal and who redefined post-presidential service, died Sunday at the age of 100.

The tenacious Southerner was turned out of office by disillusioned voters after a single term. But he had a brilliant post-presidential career as a champion of health, peace and democracy.

Fans of Belle Collective, ‘OWN’s break-out reality show’, were ELATED this week when creator and producer, Carlos King announced the show was renewed for season 6!

One of the STAND-OUT new ‘Belles’, Aikisha Colon and her husband have been a POLARIZING pair since stepping foot back in Jackson, Mississippi, where the show is based. The lovely couple had a very TRYING season 5 leading up to the EXPLOSIVE season 5 finale where the couple almost came to BLOWS with other cast members! [IN CASE YOU MISSED the EXPLOSIVE finale- revisit HERE!] Fans were eager to see what season 6 will bring.

SADLY, that may never come to pass because on Monday, on Carlo’s King’s LIVE podcast, Aikisha BLINDSIDED Carlos making the announcement that she and her HUSBAND were QUITTING the show and that Carlos’ lawyers would soon be CONTACTED by theirs!!!
